When dog's fully understand what's expected of them in the home and out in the world they are the easiest, most enjoyable companion. At Streetwise Dogs we educate using rewards to make learning clear, fun, and reliable.
Once your dog realises the value in polite, controlled, connected behaviour by way of these methods, the behaviour itself feels good to them. They no longer need to do those unwanted behaviours because the new ones meet their needs.
Training should feel good, be something the dog would choose for themself, and effective enough that you don't need to put so much effort into managing their behaviour. Ideally the dog thinks it's all a game and all their idea, so no reason to push back. That's why Streetwise Dogs use game-based training, to engage their thinking brain and strengthen their ability to learn while motivating them to choose respectable behaviour.

When you enrol on a Streetwise Dogs training programme, you’ll receive a personalised, progressive training plan with relevant demonstration videos and information sheets sent directly to you. This means you can revisit the techniques, remain consistent and train whenever it fits naturally into your day.
Online or in-person, choose what works best for you. Online sessions are just as effective and can be a great option for sensitive or easily distracted dogs. You’ll have clear, structured guidance and support so both your dog AND you can enjoy the process.

We lay foundations and then bring all the components together to create a dog who sees a situation and knows how best to behave.

How to Book
As Layne works directly with dogs and their people throughout the day, initial enquiries are handled by email or WhatsApp rather than unscheduled telephone calls. This allows Layne to gather the relevant information about your dog, consider your individual circumstances, and recommend the most appropriate next step.
If a telephone conversation would be helpful before booking, Layne will be happy to arrange a convenient time to speak with you.
TRAINING WALKS
Layne will collect and train your dog for you.
There is no coaching involved, this service is designed to speed up your dogs learning by practising the skills taught during the one-to-one sessions.
Only accessible to clients who've completed 6 one-to-one sessions or a tailored program. Training Walks are free when booking the Streetwise Star program benefits.
