When you enquire about or use Streetwise Dogs' services, we may collect information including:

Why we use your information

Payments

Where you pay online, payment processing may be provided by a third-party payment provider such as Stripe.

Streetwise Dogs does not need to receive or store your complete payment-card details when payments are processed securely by the payment provider. The payment provider will process information required to complete the transaction in accordance with its own privacy policy.

Streetwise Dogs may retain appropriate transaction information, such as the amount paid, payment status, date and reference, for booking, accounting and record-keeping purposes.

Booking and other service providers

Streetwise Dogs may use trusted third-party services to help administer the business, including services for email, calendars, appointment scheduling, online forms, payments, website hosting and secure digital storage.

These providers may process personal information on behalf of Streetwise Dogs where this is necessary to provide their service.

Streetwise Dogs will only share the information reasonably required for that purpose.

Veterinary information

Behaviour can be affected by health, pain or other physical factors. Streetwise Dogs may therefore request relevant veterinary information as part of behaviour work.

Where communication with your veterinary practice is appropriate, information will only be requested or shared where there is an appropriate lawful basis and, where required, with your permission.

Photographs and video

Your dog's training or behaviour journey may occasionally be photographed or filmed to document progress, assist with assessment, training or professional record keeping.

Where photographs or videos are intended for promotional, educational, website or social-media use, appropriate permission will be obtained.

If you would prefer your dog not to be photographed or filmed for these purposes, please tell Layne.

Sharing your information

Streetwise Dogs does not sell your personal information.

Information may be shared where reasonably necessary with service providers acting on our behalf, veterinary professionals where appropriate, professional advisers, insurers, or regulatory or legal authorities where disclosure is required or permitted by law.

We will otherwise treat the information you provide as confidential.

How long information is kept

Client records may be stored both digitally and, where appropriate, in paper files.

In accordance with Streetwise Dogs' current record-keeping policy, client records are normally retained for a minimum of five years following the original consultation.

Some information may need to be retained for longer where reasonably necessary for legal, insurance, tax, safeguarding or dispute-resolution purposes.

Information that is no longer required will be securely deleted or destroyed in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements.

Keeping your information secure

Streetwise Dogs takes reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

Access to client information is limited to those who reasonably require it for the operation of Streetwise Dogs or the provision of services.
